The long awaited top of the table Dewar Shield clash ends in an entertaining draw, where both teams could have scored a win. Despite some wasted opportunities, it was a hard-fought battle at Ashwood Reserve. In an entertaining but tight encounter, both teams were held to a ten-all draw.

The Buildcorp Wallaroos extended squad has been announced for August’s training camp in preparation for their tour of New Zealand. One of those players, Unicorn Oneata Schwalger, is the only Victorian selected in the extended squad which is a massive achievement.

Victoria has named a 24 player squad to compete at the Women’s National XVs Championship at St Ignatius College Riverview in Sydney from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 June. The squad includes players from all six sides that contest the Victorian women’s club competition including no less than nine Unicorns.

One of the biggest events on the NSW Juniors calendar, the NSW Junior State Championships, was held on the June long weekend, featuring some of the best junior rugby talent in Australia. Close to 3,000 junior players and 500 match officials participated in the event, which has been a major feature of grassroots rugby in NSW for over 50 years.

The Melbourne Rugby Club congratulates the Chargers who have taken home the top prize at this year’s Bingham Cup in Nashville, Tennessee. Over 80 people made the trek from Melbourne to head to Nashville, Tennessee USA to play, coach, help and watch the 8th Bingham Cup Tournament. It is one of the largest amateur rugby tournaments in the world, having gay and inclusive teams from around the world compete over three days of games.
