Congratulations to all the teams who have qualified for this weekend’s Victorian Rugby Union Junior Semi Finals. As everyone knows, anything can happen in the Semi Finals – just look at Rugby World Cups from the past.
So while Melbourne Green go into Saturday’s game as underdogs, they’re still in with a chance. Endeavour Hills ended the season deservedly on top of the table and now face Melbourne Green in fourth position.
After a good start to the season with a few solid wins against Box Hill and Powerhouse, the draw was turned on its head and an additional U12 Melbourne team was added to the mix. As a result, the A division ended up with only five teams – Melbourne Green, Endeavour Hills, Wyndham City, Harlequins and Moorabbin.
This Saturday morning, every Melbourne player will need to be at their best. Every tackle made; strong at the breakdown; low in the scrum; and precise in the line-out. Every pass needs to hit its mark and every kick find the line or the speedster to take it to the try line.
There is no doubt that Endeavour Hills will be on their game – this is Melbourne’s opportunity to stand up and show what they can really do.
With the loss of a few players to injury who unfortunately can’t play in the finals, the boys need to band together and make a huge effort for their team mates.
Go Unicorns!
