EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

The Melbourne Rugby Club Women’s team are looking for expressions of interest from coaches and players for the 2022 season. We are very excited to offer the opportunity for Rugby Union coaches and/or players to travel to Melbourne, Australia and join our club in 2022. See full details below.

We are offering a full scholarship for both interstate and international candidates to live and study in Melbourne for up to two years. The scholarship will allow eligibility for a student visa for foreign passport holders. Details of the available courses for both domestic and international applications will be provided to shortlisted candidates, but information on the education provider can be found below.

The successful applicant will need to be able to travel and arrive in Melbourne by the beginning of March of next year at the latest, as our season runs from April – September 2022, with pre-season commencing late January. Our home grounds are very centrally located and convenient, and accommodation and employment assistance is likely to be available from the club.

We are looking to fill the following roles in our team:

Women’s Assistant Coach
We are recruiting for an assistant coach to assist our head coach in the 2022 season. We are looking for someone that has had experience coaching a team with players that range from being brand new to the sport to capped veterans. Experience with coaching women is a plus. For the right candidate the opportunity to coach and play for the premiership team is encouraged.

Also open to applications from current elite players that want to make the first step in transitioning to a coaching career. Training and support to attain coaching certification will be provided by the head coach and the club.

While we welcome players of all levels and experience, we are also specifically recruiting elite players to join our premier team for the 2022 season. All positions are welcome to apply. Demonstrated ability in team leadership is highly regarded. Our team has a strong, inclusive culture that centres around respect for each other and genuine friendship. There is expectation that all players will align with our core team values.
