Dewar Shield 2015 Rd 16 Moorabbin v Melbourne

UNICORNS KICK INTO GEAR TO EARN WIN AGAINST RAMS

Melbourne Unicorns made it two big wins in a row, with doubles to Hamish Connell and Captain Tim Emery combining with an accurate Paul McConnochie to comfortably see off Moorabbin away from home.

With finals drawing ever nearer, Round 16 of the Direct Connect #DewarShield was devoid of upsets as the pack leaders kept the pressure upon one another.

Anare Koliavu, Unicorns’ Head Coach, paid credit to his opponents’ first half effort, but said that Melbourne were able to pull away after the break.

“Moorabbin ran the ball well and came out to play,” Koliavu said. “We weathered the storm we were expecting, and the boys kicked it up another gear to run away with the game, but the game was very even in the first half; credit to Moorabbin for that.”

This week both sides are away from home, Melbourne travelling to Endeavour Hills and Moorabbin travelling to Harlequin.
